Throw out the Junk
One of the main causes of clutter in a garden shed is hoarding. It is easy to collect stuff that you think you will use one day but very difficult to get rid of it. Unfortunately, you may find yourself arranging the same junk in your shed for ten years. Go through your shed and set aside anything that you have not used for more than a year without bias. Then look through the pile of stuff to decide what to throw or give away. You can keep a few of the things you still value.
Build Shelves
Many storage facilities could always do with a few more shelves. You can opt to buy ready-made or build your own storage shelves. It is advisable to make deep shelves so that you can use deep containers in them. Giving you ease of access to your things, especially if you label the boxes or containers on the shelf.
Make an inventory
Making an inventory of what goes into and out of your shed may not seem necessary at the beginning. However, as you amass tools and equipment, you will recognize the value of an inventory. If you don’t keep an updated log, you may find that you have a bunch of extra tools and can’t remember who you borrowed them from.
Hang up the tools
Tools can cause a hazard if left lying around the shed. Moreover, you can lose a lot of time looking for the right tool for a job and end up using something that was not made to cut or open. The best way to find the tool you need is to put it where you can see it. Hanging up your tools is an excellent way to keep them safe and in your line of vision. There are several methods in use to hang up your tools such as using a magnetic bar, a pegboard, hooks or a slat wall system, among others.

However, you should have a plan of how to prevent your shed from becoming cluttered again.Being deliberate about what and how you store things in the shed can be very helpful. Clearing the junk out of your shed could also turn out to be a great bonding opportunity from your family.
